Here is an electron micrograph of one of our phages.  Suffice it say that we made some outstanding and publishable discoveries that therefore cannot appear next to this image.  Below is one of the photographs, showing an icosahedral, tailed phage.  The base-plate is apparent on this mycobacteriophage.  Note that many of the mycobacteriophages, such as this one, have long tails for some reason.  Magnification is 50,000 and the tail length of this phage is 3.5 cm on the photographic print (the photo is scaled at 50,000 X actual size).  Your students could use these numbers to calculate the actual size of this phage.  How long is this phages tail?  The answer is here
